Unlike most desktop loudspeakers, the Model 5-AX is designed specifically for desktop listening and addresses the issues posed by nearfield listening: The woofer and tweeter are mounted high enough on the baffle so that you do not have to prop up the speaker to direct the sound to your ears which would throw off the alignment of the drivers. The crossover is a minimalist three element design allowing for great overlap, integration, and smooth transition between the output of the tweeter and woofer. The sound is full-range and non fatiguing which means even at very low volume you will get satisfying sound. Moreover, the Model 5-AX has a very small 5.25 by 7.25 foot print which means it will not overcrowd your desk.
